Tis the Shopping Season.

What to Wear: Shopping

It’s that time of year when shopping is no longer a hobby, it’s a necessity and what you wear could make or break your shopping experience. Here are some tips to keep you on your A-game and help you become a pro shopper.
A loose, oversized lightweight sweater that's easy to take off will make trying on clothes less of a pain.
Alexander Wang / Stitch Cowl Neck Sweater
$525 - lagarconne.com

Leggings are the secret to comfort and when worn right, look flattering on just about everyone!
Alexander
Wang Ribbed jersey pants
                  $295 - net-a-porter.com

Wearing heels on a long day of shopping and walking around would be far from a good idea. Wedges, however, are a comfy alternative and still give you the long line that heels do. Wear a pair like these zip wedge boots to make changing easier.
Acne Hybria leather wedge boots
$650 - net-a-porter.com

An across the body bag will allow you to have two free hands and save your arm from the discomfort of trying to hold clothes and a heavy purse.
J.W. Hulme Legacy Handbag
$390 - stevenalan.com

Time flies when you're having fun. We all know how fast time goes when we're out shopping but wearing a chic watch can help you stay on schedule.
MARC BY MARC JACOBS Patent Strap Oversized Watch
$200 - nordstrom.com

Bangles come in sets just like these. No need to stress the accessorizing! Just throw on a set!
Amrita Singh Alanna Bangle Set
$100 - couturecandy.com

A ring is a classic accessory that no girl should go without. As long as it's not too big and bulky, it won't get in the way of your ruthless shopping.
Bead In Wire Nest Ring
$20 - topshop.com

When shopping outdoors, a pair of shades are a great accessory to have.
Ray-Ban Round-frame acetate sunglasses
$180 - net-a-porter.com

Hair always gets messed up when trying clothes on. Why not be worry free and hide that mess with a fashionable fedora?
$140 - barneys.com

Give Thanks.

via Spanish Moss

I have so many things to be thankful for. The little things like being healthy or having a house, the things we take for granted. It's nice to have a day dedicated to recognizing what we're thankful for. Sometimes life just moves so fast that we don't even have the time to acknowledge what we have... or atleast mine does! I am thankful for many things, my health, my job, my motivation, my family, my friends, my closet..  and I'm thankful for my mom. Our relationship has never been as good as it is today.

What are you thankful for?

Versatility&Velvet.

unknown scarf, H&M velvet pants, Old Navy wedges, vintage Chanel earring used at brooch
Over the past few months I've discovered that this scarf is quite possibly the most versatile thing in my closet. I recently did a how-to ( shown here) showing the different ways to wear a scarf but I left out this option. In adding my vintage Chanel clip-on earring as a brooch, this shawl like scarf became a top. If you're having one of those days when you feel like you don't own anything cute, get creative with what you have!

And yes, my pants are velvet... how sweet are they?! Velvet is making a comeback. I'm in love.

Ron English.

Yesterday, my design class took a feildtrip to our art gallery on campus where artwork by Ron English was being showcased. I had never heard of him before, and now I can't get him off my mind.

He's most known for his so called "vandalism" on billboards. He creates spoof advertising that doesn't lie to America and illegally posts them on billboards all over. He claims art isn't made to sit in a gallery for a few weeks. It's made to be seen and make a statement. And there is no doubt that Ron's art is made to be seen. I find it inspiring the risks he takes to share what he's passionate about with the world. His artwork has such meaning and is so incredibly well done. Here were a few of my favorite pieces.

As crazy as this may sound coming from a fashion blogger, I've struggled with what my style is. In fact, creating this blog has immensely helped me do some soul searching. I know what I like, but can't seem to hone in on how to portray that in what I wear. Lately, I've come to find that the bohemian 70's look really hits home for me and discovering this, has made shopping a lot easier. Hippies have always brought a lot of inspiration to me and for some reason it took me far too long to realize that my style can be a canvas of my inspiration.  Besides, "We are shaped and fashioned by what we love."

If you had to label your style, what would you call it?

Alexa Chung? Think Again.

Move over Alexa Chung, British tv hostess Jameela Jamil is large and in charge! ..atleast, her impeccable style is. Though I have yet to meet her, her style portrays an aura of confidence in which I find extremely inspiring.  Believe it or not, she's actually agreed to trade closets with me for a day.. she just doesn't know it yet :)

How to: Dress Comfy Chic.

Photobucket

thrifted band tee, thrifted cardigan, random leggings, H&M flats, vintage head scarf

Every one of us have those days (particularly Mondays) where leaving the house in a pair of sweats and Ugg boots seems much more appealing than that tight mini skirt and heels you'd planned on wearing. Thankfully, it is possible to be comfortable and chic! Being a number one fan of this look, here are some of my tips to help you get away with dressing comfortable:

1. Tee Off. We all know how comfortable a big, loose, worn-in tee can be. Throwing on an old band tee looks more stylish than an old team shirt. A lot of band tees have super cool designs on them too!

2. The Cardi. Oversized knit sweaters and cardigans scream comfort. It's basically like wearing a blanket, but cuter!

3. Bad hair day? Grab a scarf! Scarves are one of the most versatile accessories (as seen here) and can easily be your solution to a bad hair day. Accessories are key!

4. Decorate your legs. Take a twist on the classic black leggings and go for bold prints or textures like my pleather leggings.

Last tip, don't ever leave your house in something you're not comfortable in!

Times They Are a Changin'.

The times they are a changin'. It's over 90 degrees and, please, correct me if I'm wrong, it is November. Last time I checked, that means it's fall. I'm oh so jealous of the other places in this world that are cold enough to even wear pants! Am I alone in my love for winter clothes?

So please, Gods of the weather, please bring some chilly weather my way.
Sincerely, Sasha.

Though I'm very undecided on a lot of things in life, I am certainly set on the fact that I love the city and hope to live in one in the years to come. This past weekend, Taryn (of Style-Phenomenon) and I went to our favorite little vegan cafe, Free Soul, which is in the heart of oldtown Tustin, surrounded by brick loft apartments and thrift stores. I love the feel of the whole area and it is pretty much an exact replica of an apartment I see myself living in somewhere in New York. Where's your dream house?
